ποΈInformation
On the dusty outskirts of Bamako, Mali, lies a hauntingly beautiful and forgotten place β the Car Cemetery. This sun-scorched field is littered with the hollow shells of old trucks and vans, quietly rusting and sinking into the earth. The atmosphere is as silent as it is surreal; there's no engine roar here, only the whistle of dry wind weaving through broken windows and skeletal chassis. Walking among these derelict machines evokes an odd nostalgia, a sense of witnessing the last resting ground of once-powerful workhorses of the road. One of the images shows a dusty yellow DAF 2800 Turbo Intercooling, its front grill still proud despite missing wheels and hanging bodywork. The scene forms a strange mechanical graveyard, a parts museum and monument to a bygone driving era.
